Seasonal Tax Preparer

We are seeking seasonal Tax Preparers to join one of our office locations - Elk Grove Village, Elgin, McHenry, or Woodridge. 

Flexible – can be hybrid in office and remote. 

This is a part-time position with variable hours based on business needs; the position is a tax season only position requiring a commitment from mid-February to mid-April.

This position requires a high-energy, experienced tax professional with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Our growing tax practice provides full or part-time seasonal opportunities in an environment of the highest ethical standards and professionals. Minimum weekly commitment of 32 hours per week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Prepare individual, business, and trust income tax returns (depending on experience)
• Perform tax research where appropriate
• Perform all work in compliance with the firm's policies and procedures
• Maintain technical tax skills through continuing professional education, on the job training and participation in internal tax training sessions
• Communicate directly with client when appropriate
• Be comfortable with face-to-face preparation for 1040 clients
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in individual income tax preparation
• Strong understanding of the tax preparation services
• Strong analytical skills to enable effective decision-making
• Ability to grasp concepts quickly and demonstrate knowledge of basic technical skills, as well as related knowledge of necessary systems and procedures
• Excellent client service orientation with an ability to handle pressure in a positive, professional manner
• Effective listening skills
• Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy

Salary Description $25.00 per hour - $50.00 per hour
