<p>Job Title</p>Senior Manager, Sustainable Software Engineer Advocate<p>Business context </p><p></p><p>With 4 to 5% of the total carbon emissions from human origin, technology has its share of responsibility in the climate and environmental crisis that humanity is facing. </p><p>As a leading tech company, we at Amadeus have the moral and economical responsibility to measure and minimize the environmental footprint of our operations, as reflected both in our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives and in the three horizons of our technology strategy. </p><p>In 2022, a new program was created in the Engineering Experience area (TSI-CPS-ES2) for that very purpose: the green IT program. </p><p></p><p>The term “green IT” designates all the design, development and operations principles that help minimizing the environmental footprint of technology while unlocking its expected value. The purpose of the program is to shift the mindset of the engineering community and empower then with the right skills, tools and metrics to make green IT a part of our engineering DNA and embed sustainable practices in everything we do. </p><p></p><p>The green IT program lead is accountable for the elaboration and successful deployment of the green IT program across the entire Engineering Community. It is an exciting and challenging position that requires strong influencing skills at senior level and a solid knowledge of Amadeus challenges and organizational structure. </p><p> </p><p>Accountabilities </p><p>The green IT program lead will define and drive the content of the program across 4 main pillars: </p><ul><li><p>Driving the change: the green IT program lead is accountable for the cultural shift within the organization that will enable the massive and sustainable adoption of green practices, through relentless influencing and advocacy work. Among other things, the program lead will be expected to: </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Coordinate the deployment of the Climate Fresk workshop across the organization </p></li><li><p>Design and organize engaging events to raise awareness about the impacts of technology </p></li><li><p>Maintain an engaged community of sustainability practitioners across the engineering community, in close collaboration with ESG and P&C organizations </p></li><li><p>Be the voice of Amadeus green IT externally, in conferences and tech events </p></li></ul><p> </p><ul><li><p>Engaging the engineering community: the green IT program lead is responsible for engaging all members of the engineering community around the green IT transformation: leadership, developers, Principal Engineers, architects, operations… Among other things, this includes: </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Regular touchpoints with the engineering leadership to provide clear status on the program evolution and engage on the next steps (1 x par an tour de tous les Head of Engineering) </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>The animation of the Green IT ambassadors community, a network of proxies in every engineering organization, with best practice sharing, feedback sessions </p></li><li><p>An active participation to the green IT and green software eco-system, notably through the Green Software Foundation (Jury hackaton/table ronde), and a constant watch of the evolutions of the topic </p></li><li><p>The creation and evolution of an actionable, job-specific training path (by working with the Talent Management team) </p></li></ul><p> </p><ul><li><p>Building the green IT framework (= methodologies, guidelines, tooling et communities) : the green IT program lead is responsible for the creation, deployment and adoption of a green software framework, that will enable the engineering community to put the green IT principles in practice in both a preventive and corrective mode. To date, the two main bricks of that framework are: </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>An in-house carbon measurement tool for software: the program lead is expected to drive the roadmap and evolution of the tool, to define the corresponding use cases and to drive its progressive adoption in accordance with the OKR defined at TTI level </p></li><li><p>A green IT health assessment tool provided by CAST software: the program lead is expected to coordinate the various phases for its adoption (pilot phase in 2024 and progressive deployment depending on pilot outcome) </p></li></ul><p> </p><ul><li><p>Minimizing our footprint: the green IT program lead is expected to encourage the application of green IT principles in the various organization through engaging events and incentives (WasteBuster campaigns, Digital Cleanup, logathon…) and to promote the outcome of these optimizations for inspiration and long-lasting behavior change. </p></li></ul><p> </p><p>Additional accountabilities: </p><p>The green IT program lead will: </p><ul><li><p>Build, advocate for and manage its program budget to the TTI business unit </p></li><li><p>Be the Product Owner of the green IT tools (carbon footprint measurement en
