Summary: Highly organized and experienced Production Supervisor with extensive knowledge of label manufacturing processes and quality control. Proven track record of successfully managing production teams to meet and exceed production goals. 


Role and Responsibilities:


Press Room

  • Develop improvements to reduce waste percentage and set-up times.

Production

  • Attend daily production meetings.
  • Facilitate and coordinate the completion of change order management forms.

Quality

  • Perform product quality checks, including proofreading/checking copy, verifying color to PMS book or color standard, die cut quality, UPC symbol, registration, proper coating, material specification, and overall print quality.
  • Assist in inspecting and sampling in various stages of work.
  • Review quality documents and retain samples daily to ensure product quality and procedure compliance.
  • Perform general quality verification tests.
  • Perform customer-specific quality verification tests (adhesion tests, spectro analysis, etc).
  • Perform production approval checks.
  • Enter quality incidents into the tracking system and distribute them for investigation/response.
  • Assist in recording and investigating internal quality incidents (set aside items, reruns, shortages)
  • Assist in investigating external quality incidents and create corrective action documentation/reports for senior Management to review.
  • Segregate and review questionable products regarding non-conformance issues.
  • Assist in monitoring incoming RMA shipments and coordinate investigation/disposition of material.

Floor Leadership

  • Being on the floor consistently auditing processes, holding employees accountable, and driving process improvements.
  • Making sure press, finishing, and support teams are working cohesively.
  • Effectively communicate business goals and targets to the team.
  • Gets followership of the organization because of credibility and respect (connects with the employees)
  • Can manage and communicate up/down/across all levels within the company

Operational Management

  • Continuous Improvement in Safety and 6S.
  • Communication with employees has been effective.
  • A positive attitude is demonstrated to both internal and external customers.
  • Meeting Lead Time and On-Time-Delivery targets.
  • Reduction in Production Related Quality Occurrence.
  • Assist in troubleshooting jobs on press.
  • Facilitate conversations between the Production team to keep the department updated on improvements, challenges, or changes.
  • Assumes direct responsibility to ensure presses have all required resources.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum two-year certificate from college or technical school in Management or related program preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in label press operation in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands: Works in a manufacturing/office environment and must wear hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in the manufacturing setting. Must be able to move freely throughout the plant. May be on feet all day with the need to stand, walk, kneel, crawl, crouch, stoop, bend, and climb, as needed. Moderate to frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs (25 lbs repetitively) is required.
