Collins Aerospace Systems is seeking exceptional technical talent for an internship, to drive product development of complex systems within our business. The Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance Sandbox team in Applied Research and Technology group in Enterprise Engineering is seeking an exceptional intern candidate to support technology transition activities from an ongoing NASA research project by helping integrate and demonstrate project-developed capabilities within a broader simulation and evaluation environment. The role will focus on interfacing and connecting multiple simulation tools, investigating and assessing Collins Aerospace tools/simulators, and recommending the most effective approach to integrate or leverage these platforms for technology transfer. The intern will also test and evaluate trajectory-advisory methodologies intended to support pilots during off-nominal or emergency scenarios, including assessing pilot followability of recommended emergency paths and documenting performance, limitations, and integration requirements.

This position involves hands-on simulation integration, structured evaluation, and clear technical reporting to enable successful transition of research outcomes into applied use cases. This role is onsite, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role may be eligible for relocation.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Enrolled in the NASA University Leadership Initiative led by Embry Riddle University.
  • Proficiency in manipulating and analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets.
  • Naturally inquisitive and skilled in exploratory data analysis, formulating and testing hypotheses. 
  • Results-oriented and motivated to provide solutions with measurable benefit to our customer and business.
  • Ability to communicate with clarity and precision. 
  • Currently enrolled in Engineering or Science program with proven interest and skills.
