Data Governance Analyst

Paradigm is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support our client, a leader in the global legal services space. In this role, you will work closely with the Data Governance Specialist to drive change in a data rich environment through analyzing the integrity, efficiency and availability of data. You will work alongside data owners, data stewards and business stakeholders to provide support whilst creating and maintaining policies, standards and the implementation of non-invasive data governance.
Type: 1-year contract
Location: Remote (Oregon)
Pay Rate: DOE

- Clarification and/or implementation of technical or business requirements
- Data governance policy creation, management, and analyzing potential impacts of policy choices under consideration
- Support the implementation of non-invasive data governance
- Develop relationships with a broad range of business partners to understand current and anticipated future business needs regarding data and data governance
- Participate in analyzing, planning, development and/or implementation through the following:
- Serve as a liaison between functional and technology teams to ensure a common understanding about business data, including who owns data, what data means, where to find data, when data is available, and how data can be used.
- Coordinate and monitor data standardization efforts and compliance, identifying data/process gaps and working with business process owners and technology teams to resolve discrepancies
- Research and development of new data governance best practices and implementation strategies
- Provide data governance expertise in potentially complex areas and data-intensive projects
Requirements
Our skills and experience wish list include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting, or Finance strongly preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience in data management, data engineering, business intelligence, data quality, and/or related fields
- Knowledge of data-related government regulatory requirements, privacy and security best practices, and data lifecycle/retention policies and practices
- Passionate about the benefits of accurate and actionable data, you drive consistency and enjoy partnering with others to accomplish the task
- Knowledgeable and experienced with data management processes, reference data, policy creation, data stewardship, and technologies
- Demonstrates the ability to translate business issues and requirements into actionable plans, and to deliver against those plans
- Intermediate level knowledge and experience working with SQL Server and/or in the development of T-SQL code highly desired
- Excellent project planning, organizational, and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Thinks strategically, with an equal focus on delivering to both short and long term business objectives
