For every child, the right to a Champion

The PFP Individual Giving section based in Rome was a lead participant in the Supporter Engagement Strategy (SES), which aims to increase the global acquisition and engagement of UNICEF’s diverse supporter base, including donors, advocates, and volunteers by introducing Salesforce Technology to all Country offices and participating National Committees. As the implementation phase is now complete, focus shifts to supporting Individual Giving Fundraising markets in maximizing the effectiveness of this technology.

How can you make a difference?

The fundraising specialist will support markets in the implementation of product enhancements, bug resolution and AI adoption in their SES systems from a business point of view, ensuring that the platform is optimized for individual giving fundraising performance and standards. Additionally, he/she will support the success of solution for UNICEF offices. This role will require close collaboration with markets, to understand and document their requirements, and identify opportunities to simplify, streamline and standardize the new processes / functionalities / agents, working with the overriding aim of improving IG fundraising performance in the short and long term.

In addition to understanding and documenting processes and requirements, this role will support delivery by working closely with support partners and participating in an Agile based development framework supporting design, testing and training for the new functionalities.

As part of the Agile based North Star (central) squad, the fundraising specialist will be the focal point for all markets in ECA region, Virtual Hub and all National coms using this technology. Some specific support to other markets outside of this remit may also be required.

Some specific tasks for this role are: refining business processes for maximum efficiency, prioritizing bugs or enhancement requests, data hygiene and standardization, maintaining discipline to required coding standards and reporting mechanisms, identifying new opportunities to add to the CORE UNICEF system, and ensuring that each office maintains a clear plan for further development of the system.

Support will be prioritized with a strong focus on impact to individual giving fundraising performance.

  • Help to manage the Agile development process by story prioritization, sprint planning, backlog grooming etc.
  • Works closely with the Individual Giving (IG) team by propagating standards, processes, frameworks, and best practices while informing them of challenges, and opportunities directly from markets.
  • Works closely with the Individual Giving (IG) team responsible for the AI strategy to ensure the efforts developed within the SES ecosystem are aligned to those guidelines and goals.
  • Close collaboration with technical delivery colleagues in UNICEF’s technology division (DID) and external partners to co-design, implement and test various solutions
  • Identify new functionalities available in the market and propose pilots considering business impact and ROI.
  • Guide country offices to ensure they are at the correct stage of readiness for implementation by helping with resource planning, technology solutions or recommendations, and timeline and process awareness for enhancements and new functionalities.
  • Work with countries and support partners to provide a viable solution to business requirements with CORE products and localization efforts.
