Sonographer Per Diem

Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Per Diem Sonographer to join their Radiology team. This applicant would be responsible for completing Ultrasound procedures on inpatients and outpatients with a focus on high quality outcomes, outstanding customer service and patient safety. 

Essential Job Duties:

1. Completes ultrasound procedures following departmental protocols 
2. Confidently explains ultrasound procedures to patients 
3. Accurately and consistently completes required ultrasound paperwork 
4. Assists the Front Office staff in insuring orders for ultrasound procedures are appropriate 
5. Maintains current standards of practice through review of current literature, including information on best practice 
6. Performs daily, monthly, quarterly quality control as appropriate 
7. Communicates examination outcomes to Radiologists appropriately or to Cardiologists on the appropriate cases 
8. Oversight of inventory (medical supplies and other supplies) 
9. Participates in quality management oversight and data acquisition 
10. Bring issues and potential solutions to the attention of the Radiology Manager 

Other Duties:

1. Complies with local, state and federal laws and regulations. 
2. Completes other duties as assigned

Requirements

Availability Requirements:

1. Sunday through Saturday per shift assigned. Call required on a rotating basis  

Licenses and Education:

1. CPR certification
