About the role

The Mid-Sr. Database Administrator is responsible for managing Azure SQL and Snowflake functions with hands-on experience in ADP Pipelines and advanced database performance tuning. This role works with ADF Pipelines, monitoring tools and advanced database performance tuning to ensure the reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness of our database and data integration environments.   PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES Administer, Maintain, and Optimize Database Environments
  1. Monitor database health and system performance utilizing available tools
  2. Perform query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning
  3. Manage and monitor Azure Data Factory (ADF) Pipelines for workflow and data integration
  4. Proactively monitor and manage Azure cost optimization for database and data services
  5. Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide timely resolutions
  6. Ensure database security, compliance, backup, and disaster recovery procedure are followed
  7. Document database configurations, processes, and performance metrics
Creates an Exceptional Customer Experience
  1. Collaborate with application developers, BI/Reporting teams, and infrastructure engineers to design scalable and cost-effective solutions
  2. Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide timely resolutions
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Expert level proficiency in SQL Server database management, performance tuning, and administration
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, T-SQL, and advanced database queries for performance tuning and data analysis
  • Proficiency in cloud computing platforms and data pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake data architecture, data modeling, ETL, and data warehouse optimization
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tools for data integrity and compliance
  • Strong knowledge of database security protocols
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment Self-motivated, detail oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills (verbal / written)
  • Advanced interpersonal relationship skills at a variety of levels and greatly differing social and business settings
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze relevant information and apply individual judgment
  • A valid driver's license with the ability to operate an automobile
