Responsibilities
How will you make an impact?
This position reports to the Director, Flight Safety. In this role, the Proram Manager Flight Safety performs audits of facilities, methods, procedures, policies, and programs affecting any possible safety of flight issues as well as other Flight Safety duties as assigned.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the Flight Irregularities Program which includes:
- Flight crew contacts after an event or incident.
- Dissemination of preliminary event reports.
- Review of all Pilot Debriefs.
- Maintaining the various Flight Safety and Flight Mechanical databases.
- Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, annual reports and working group presentations.
- Analysis of safety program data and policies.
- Participate in the investigation of events and incidents reported by crewmembers involving flight operations, maintenance or ground operations.
- Participate as required with the Envoy Accident Go Team.
- Conducts and/or participates in investigations into the circumstances of reported issues of non-compliance.
- Assists other Flight Safety Program Managers with:
- Emergency Response
- Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP)
- Confidential Safety Action Program (CSAP)
- Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA)
- Fatigue Risk Management Program (FRMP)
- Line Operations Safety Audit (LOSA) Program.
- Conduct Safety Department briefings for flight crew members.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director Flight Safety.
Qualifications
Who we are looking for?
In this role, the Program Manager Flight Safety must possess strong leadership skills, organizational and analytical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality of reports. The Manager must also have the ability to prioritize tasks, manage a large number of projects simultaneously and work collaboratively across functional departments.
Position Requirements
- Minimum age of 21
- Bachelor of Science in Safety, Aviation, Engineering Sciences, Physical Sciences or related fields or equivalent amount of relevant work experience.
- Must have an excellent understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations, accident/incident investigation, and NTSB/FAA requirements.
- Must have knowledge of pilot, maintenance, and cabin safety, human factors, and system safety.
- Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
- Possess the legal right to work in the United States.
- Willing and able to travel approximately 20% of the time.
- Willing to work irregular hours and days.
Position Preferences
- A current or previous, Part 121 airline Captain with Management, Check Airman, or Instructor experience.
- FAA Commercial or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a type rating.
- Type rated in the Embraer ERJ-170/175 aircraft.
- Previous management or supervisory experience.
- Possess good judgment and analytical and technical skills, as well as good oral and written communication skills.
- Previous technical and report writing experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Proficiency in Sabre, Flight Keys, Intelex, and Tableau.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Proven work experience building constructive and effective relationships with all workgroups along with management and union officials at all levels
Additional Position Details
- Candidates must fulfill a fingerprint based criminal background check to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable.
- Candidates must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, in addition to clearing other airport related requirements, if applicable.
