Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a professional nurse position that reports to the Specialty Programs Unit Director.  This individual is a medical subject matter expert that performs independent and complex work for the central office of the Division of Children's Medical Services Bureau of Specialty Programs.

    

Coordinates and conducts monitoring and reviews of pediatric health care system contracts to determine compliance with administrative, financial, and programmatic management requirements. Prepares reports and makes recommendations as necessary to correct identified deficiencies and improve operations and service delivery. Monitors contract providers' performance pertaining to assigned contract management responsibilities.

 

Provides programmatic oversight and consultation in all contract areas including, but not limited to, contract negotiations, oversight, and reporting.  Assists in budget related activities for assigned contracts

 

Facilitates statewide initiatives, working with internal and external stakeholders to improve access and quality of healthcare for children and youth with special healthcare needs.

 

Provides technical assistance related to contract implementation and coordination issues pertaining to contract management to contract providers, CMS Staff, DOH Finance and Accounting staff, DOH Contract Administration Staff, the Department of Financial Services and various auditing organizations including but not limited to the State Auditor General's Office and the DOH Inspector General's Office. 

 

Collects and analyzes data from various sources related to the financial impact of implementing legislation relating to contracts.   Assists in the collection and analysis of data relating to key performance indicators.  Reports findings to management.

 

Travel required: 10%

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of theories and concepts of preventative health care.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. 
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. 
  • Ability to collect and organize data.
  • Ability to access information from computer data systems and web sites.
  • Ability to use a computer for word processing, spread sheets and database applications. 
  • Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.  Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 Years Nursing Experience
  • Pediatric Nursing or Public Health Nursing Experience
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.  Florida Statutes Reference: 464, F.S. Valid Florida Driver’s License.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree or higher
  • Program Implementation/Monitoring Experience
  • Contract Management Experience
