Pharmacy Technician (Inpatient)

Boone Memorial Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team. As a full-time member of the inpatient pharmacy staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality care to our patients by assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications. Essential Responsibilities:

• Prepare medication orders for final check by the pharmacist

• Accurately input prescription data and maintain patient profiles, including demographic and allergy information

• Maintain and organize pharmacy records

• Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that supplies are reordered as needed and checking stock for expired medications

• Receive and accept drug orders digitally and physically into inventory

• Assist pharmacists in the preparation of controlled substances and other medications

• Help maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the pharmacy

• Assist with the physical inventory of pharmacy stock

• Provide support in the dispensing of medications for inpatient needs

• Process employee prescriptions as permitted by State Board of Pharmacy regulations

• Participate in staff meetings, educational sessions, and hospital orientation programs

• Complete annual Paycom Learning requirements

• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required Education & Credentials:

• Must possess a valid, active, unrestricted pharmacy technician license with the WV Board of Pharmacy

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Completion of a Technician Training Program as outlined by WV Board of Pharmacy/Legislature Rules 15 C.R.S. 7

Preferred Qualifications:

• Retail or inpatient pharmacy experience

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform various motor skills such as hand-eye coordination, sitting or standing for long periods of time, walking, lifting (up to 20 pounds), climbing stairs, reaching, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, squatting, grasping, and arm-hand coordination on a continuous basis

• Must be able to view and look at computer screens for long periods of time
