What We Want

The Assistant Athletics Director provides critical support to the Associate Athletics Director for Academic Services in the operation and advancement of the Center for Student-Athlete Services. This role leads designated staff, oversees academic support functions for Football, and ensures full compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional standards. The position also serves as the Scholastic Supervisor for Football, managing all aspects of academic monitoring, eligibility, and student-athlete development.

Responsibilities 

Academic Advising & Student-Athlete Support:

  • ·         Serve as the scholastic supervisor for Football student-athletes.
  • ·         Evaluate academic strengths, challenges, and support needs; recommend participation in the learning center.
  • ·         Continuously monitor progress toward degree completion and maintain accurate academic records in alignment with NCAA and conference standards.
  • ·         Assist in determining eligibility status and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
  • ·         Participate in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes and advise on academic opportunities.
  • ·        Provide guidance to student-athletes on major selection and academic planning.

Staff Supervision & Unit Operations:

  • ·         Assist with oversight and execution of Center for Student-Athlete Services initiatives.
  • ·         Supervise designated full-time staff—such as scholastic supervisors, athletic assistants, and student interns—ensuring performance excellence.
  • ·         Conduct performance evaluations and manage staff attendance and leave within SSO.
