Internship Program Overview
Citizens Bank is seeking Summer Analysts to join the Capital Markets & Advisory (CM&A) team. Through a 10-week internship program, Summer Analysts will work closely with the team’s junior and senior professionals to prepare, analyze, and execute investment banking transactions, primarily within the U.S. middle market. This program is the primary method of sourcing full-time Investment Banking Analyst candidates. Over the course of the summer internship program, Summer Analysts will be assigned to active and prospective engagement teams, gaining exposure to the day-to-day responsibilities of an investment banker and growing professionally in a fast-paced environment.
Opportunity Overview
Our Corporate Finance New York investment bankers are “Industry Coverage Experts” who originate and execute M&A, equity, and debt transactions across various industries through strategic advisory and capital raising solutions. Summer Analysts on the Corporate Finance team in New York support 4 sector groups and 21 Managing Directors through crafting pitch/marketing materials, preparing company/sector analyses, and performing an array of financial valuations. Summer Analysts work alongside investment banking Analysts and Associates and receive personalized learning opportunities through the mentorship program.
Sector coverage in New York includes Technology, Healthcare, Financial Services, and Real Estate.
Responsibilities
Shared responsibilities across all CM&A functions include:
- Financial Analysis: Financial modeling, comparable company and transaction analyses, leveraged buyout, and other valuation analyses.
- Preparing Information Memoranda and Transaction Documents: Draft key marketing and transaction-related documents.
- Supporting Team Members: Develop new business ideas, pitch strategies, or transaction structuring scenarios to help clients achieve their strategic objectives.
- Preparing Pitch/Business Origination Materials and Presentations: Develop and assemble pitches and presentations and be an integral part of delivering these presentations.
Preferred Qualifications

- Current students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, graduating between Winter 2026 – Spring 2027.
- Minimum GPA of 3.2; Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.5
- Please include your cumulative GPA on your resume.
- Relevant work experience, leadership experience and coursework in Finance, Accounting or Economics is preferred but all majors considered.
- Strong analytical skills and software skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
- Candidates must currently be a U.S. Resident to be eligible for this program.
- Please note that U.S. Immigration sponsorship or work visa is not available for intern / full time Analyst positions and candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.

Pay Transparency
This position offers $41/hr as a hourly rate.
Since this a temporary position, you are not eligible to participate in the Citizens colleague benefits program.
