Workdays & Hours: FLSA Exempt position. Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm; some evening/weekend work required. Hybrid on-site work model available with supervisory approval; staff are required to be on-site at least 2 days per week (this is non-negotiable).

A Sr. IT Technical Support Analyst position is available with the City of Fort Worth IT Solutions’ Platform Technologies Division (Services Team). The Platform Technologies team is responsible for managing and securing the organization’s IT infrastructure. This includes managing Active Directory and Microsoft Entra, to ensure reliable authentication and account lifecycle management. Administering ProofPoint to protect against email threats, phishing, and data loss, maintaining strong security and compliance. In addition, the team supports all Microsoft 365 services—such as Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint—and oversees Microsoft 365 policies, while driving automation to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enhance the end-user experience. Platform Technologies also supports VMware vSphere and SAN storage infrastructure.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Four (4) years of responsible experience in formation system technical support work such as operating systems, networking, server backup and recovery, or related fields.
- Minimum of one (1) certification specific to the Technical Support division.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Candidate selected for hire must pass a CJIS background check (see below for details).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) years minimum of automating processes using PowerShell.
- 5 years minimum experience configuring and supporting Microsoft 365, Entra, and Hybrid Exchange environments.
- 3 years minimum setting up, configuring and supporting Azure and AWS environments.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
- ITIL Foundations Certification.
The Sr. IT Technical Support Analyst’s job responsibilities include:
- Use PowerShell and automation tools to streamline administrative tasks, reporting, and bulk changes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess technical requirements, develop scalable solutions, and ensure seamless integration of emerging technologies
- Troubleshoot complex IT issues and provide innovative solutions
- Support and tune VMware vSphere
- Submit and execute complex production changes based on ITIL methodology
- Manage mailboxes, distribution lists, and Exchange Online settings, including policies for retention, spam filtering, and mobile device access.
- Implement and monitor security measures such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), conditional access, DLP (data loss prevention), and compliance policies.
