Maintain kitchen work areas, cooking equipment, utensils and service ware in order to provide cooks, and food servers with appropriate equipment for guests’ dining experience.  Also requires cleaning of physical surrounding, floors, coolers, cooking equipment and other assignments in the heart of the house

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:

• Promptly and carefully sort soiled ware so that it can be put through the dish or pot machine properly.  Quickly wash all ware and replace in storage areas as designated. Physical strength and stamina are essential to this position due to the high activity level.
• Check stations before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
• Keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per hotel standards.
• Operate burnishing machine to ensure proper finish on silverware.
• Polish silver for proper appearance.
• Clean Kettles, tilt skillets, pots and pans promptly and completely so cooks can carry out their work.
• Replenishment of supplies and cleanliness of the colleague dining room.
• Empty all trash in service areas at predetermined times and upon request from the manager.
• Perform general /routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by manager/ supervisor to adhere to health standards.
• Clean, sweep and mop floors to avoid slip/fall accidents as needed
• Perform other duties and tasks in the kitchen and storage areas as requested, such as moving supplies and equipment between storage and working areas, cleaning up spills, organizing  etc.
• Report duty as scheduled by direct supervisor according to operating hours.
• Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor/ manager.
• Provide maximum levels of guest service while maintaining Langham Hospitality Group standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Activities include standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, handling, grasping, lifting, carrying, seeing, hearing, talking, walking.  Considerable repetitive motion of hands and wrists as pertaining to pouring of drinks from bottles and shaking with shakers.
• Requires the ability to lift and carry object weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Standing for 90% of work shift is required.

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverages preparation.
• Understand simple instructions
• Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions,  and other informational and operational manuals and postings, in order to communicate with colleagues and guests.
• Perform routine work or the same task over and over again
• Ability to work stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time. 
• Ability to operate dishwashers, and all other equipment as needed.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

• Any combination of education, training or experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. 
• High school diploma preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Prior stewarding experience preferred.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:

Serve safe certification.

Rate of pay: $38.33 per hour
