Security Operations Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY: The Security Operations Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events and incidents that flow through the Republic Services Operations Center (RSOC). The incumbent plays a critical part in protecting the organization against internal and external threats.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor security alerts and logs from intelligence hub tools and other security technologies such as cameras and access control systems.

• Conduct remote guarding patrols via security technology systems

• Communicate with site leaders regarding incident reports or potential security concerns at locations across the enterprise.

• Conduct initial triage of safety, operational, and security incidents, escalate as needed, and coordinate response activities.

• Investigate suspicious activities, primarily through CCTV, including, unauthorized access attempts, and insider threats.

• Maintain and update incident response playbooks and standard operating procedures.

• Quickly gather facts and document in incident reports.  Provide updates as necessary.

• Participate in security audits, compliance checks, and risk assessments.

• Provide recommendations for security improvements and contribute to overall security strategy.

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficient with CCTV, access control, operating systems (Windows, MS Office), and cloud environments.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Experience with incident response

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• 2-4 years of experience in Security, IT, Cyber Security, or related fields.

• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.
