Welding

Position Overview:

Wausau Tile is looking for a Production Welder to join our Weld Shop team. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual with strong mechanical and welding skills. The successful candidate will perform MIG and wire-feed welding for metal components used in concrete reinforcement, while ensuring safety, quality, and production standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production Welding & Fabrication
  Weld metal components using MIG and wire-feed equipment; perform cutting, bending, grinding, and measuring according to job specifications.
• Setup & Maintenance
  Set up and maintain welders, grinders, and other fabrication equipment to ensure safe and optimal performance.
• Material Handling
  Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes to move parts and materials within the shop.
• Blueprint Reading & Quality Control
  Interpret blueprints and work orders; inspect welds and finished components for accuracy and conformance using measuring tools.
• Support Tasks
  Assist with general department tasks including troubleshooting, cleanup, and mentoring team members when the lead is absent.

Tools & Equipment Used:

• MIG welders, wire-feed welders, and arc welding tools
• Grinders, measuring tools, hand/power tools
• Forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes

Physical Requirements:

• Standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Repetitive motions of hands, wrists, shoulders
• Ability to climb stairs/ladders and work in various shop conditions
