About the role
Job Description Summary
The Lean Leader for GNF-A Manufacturing is a critical leadership role within the Fuels organization. The role reports to Brett Suits, GNF-A Fuels Manufacturing Lead, and will be accountable for driving Lean implementation and transformation across the Fuels organization.As a member of the Manufacturing Leadership Team, you will be an active contributor to operationalizing the business vision/strategy into tactical actions. You will serve as “Chief Problem Solver,” mobilizing change and achieving business results and building sustainable business improvements. Deliverables include lean maturity for the segment and its leaders, and SQDC improvements through kaizen events, problem solving and coaching. This role will require you to coach leaders at all levels, lead problem solving, kaizens, operations reviews etc.
Success in this role looks like:
• Supporting Fuels Manufacturing in achieving their SQDC objectives through the deployment of the Hoshin Kanri, MOR and Leaders Standard Work among other Lean tools.
• Progressing and maturing the adoption of lean tools as a part of the operating philosophy including value stream mapping, standard work, kaizen, visual and daily management.
• Establishing yourself as a subject matter expert by demonstrating experience deploying lean principles and tools to impact business metrics and employee morale.

Essential Responsibilities
- Executes the GE Vernova / Nuclear lean system within the Manufacturing organization and provide ‘voice of customer’ feedback for improvement.
- May participate in or coach a Hoshin Kanri improvement priority workstream, facilitate HK related problem solving.
- Run operating reviews, including Monthly Operating Reviews and Daily Management
- Coach, facilitate, and drive maturity in the Operating Review process and execution.
- Lead implementation of Daily Management and Problem Solving in the segment; Coach, facilitate, and drive maturity in the process and execution.
- Coach key kaizen roles (ES, PO, TL, F); facilitate kaizen events.
- Deliver process improvements that improve customer outcomes, KPIs and leadership behaviors.
- Demonstrate influence on SQDC and financial performance of the segment, influence policies/guidelines
- Develop lean expertise and build reputation within the organization. Link with other segments and functions.
- Interpret business challenges and recommend best practices. Understand industry trends to inform decisions.
- Lead others to find creative solutions for complex problems. Evaluate quality of data, use internal and external resources.
- Communicate difficult concepts and influence others to consider a different point of view.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
- 5+ years’ experience in a related field, leading and coaching teams in manufacturing, supply chain, services, engineering, commercial processes.
- Experience utilizing Lean tools in a manufacturing setting

- Ability to see, articulate, and then operationalize the business vision/strategy into tactical actions – mobilizing change and achieving business results that impact the P&L and build sustainable business improvements.
- Complex problem-solving skillset and aptitude – “Chief Problem Solver”
- Able to facilitate, coach and direct (up, down and across) the full value stream to drive most effective solutions
- You can debate and influence other leadership team members on the path and plan to achieve results.
- Broad experience facilitating kaizens and teaching lean methods
- The ideal candidate is a change agent, able to make the case for lean and demonstrate immediate impact.
- Comfortable with conflict and debate normally associated with change.
- Practitioner and / or expert of Lean practices.
- Trajectory to move beyond lean leader into key functional and P&L leadership roles.
