Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Registered Nurse for our Float Pool II who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

• Applies critical reasoning and judgment in patient care delivery.

• Utilizes care delivery tools in order to deliver safe, timely care and interventions to patients (e.g., SBAR communication tool, POSS scale, RRT, interpreter services).

Qualifications include:
• Current Maryland State nursing license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Passing score on NCLEX
• Experience: 1 to 3 years (qualified to sit for specialty certifications)
• Able to work in a stressful environment with multiple demands and to respond appropriately.
• Able to resolve conflicts effectively, prioritize tasks, respond to emergencies, and react calmly.
• Knowledgeable of professional nursing theory and practice to evaluate care.
• Knowledgeable of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
• Awareness of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
• Able to respond to alarm codes, answering phone, overhead pages, beeper pages
• Able to read charts, labels, documentation, policies, and procedures

Work Schedule:

This is a per diem position with a rate of $60/hour.

Weekend Requirement: The weekend is defined as Saturday (7a-7p); Saturday night (7p-7a); Sunday (7a-7p); and Sunday night (7p-7a)

-Float Pool II- 2 weekend shifts (24 hours) within a 4-week schedule period

Holiday Requirement:

  • Level II- Holiday requirements per year include one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s), one major summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July & Labor Day) and one Hallmark Holiday (Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and/or Halloween)
