The Work You Will Do:
This is a highly responsible and professional position in the Reemployment Assistance Appeals Commission. The Senior Benefits Analyst (Career Service) is a member of the Reemployment Assistance Appeals Commission (RAAC) Clerk's Unit.The responsibilities of the position include implementation of RAAC Orders into the Reconnect system, coordination with FloridaCommerce stakeholders related to implementation of the RAAC Orders, and conducting research and retrieval of information related to reemployment assistance claims and appeals to assist with RAAC's appeal review processes. The duties also include preparation and management of appeal case documents, assisting with reports as needed, and communication with external parties. The incumbent in this position works under the direct supervision of the Commission Clerk (Deputy General Counsel), but must be capable of exercising a high degree of independent judgment and discretion.
Pay:
$50,000-54,000 Annually, salary based on qualifications and experience.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
• This position is responsible for assisting the Commission Clerk with work performed in the clerk's unit. Primary responsibilities include review of Commission orders and implementation of Commission orders in Reconnect, and research and retrieval of information and documents concerning claims, adjudication, and appeals of reemployment assistance claims to assist RAAC in its review of appeals.
• Coordinates with the Florida Department of Commerce (FloridaCommerce) Reemployment Assistance Program for implementation of Commission Orders, and inquiries related to cases and claims at FloridaCommerce Reemployment Assistance Program.
• Assists with RAAC's customer service activities and responds to inquiries from in-house staff and external parties.
• The incumbent may perform duties related to the Commission's reports and transcript preparation.
• Assists the Commission Clerk with review of new appeal requests by determining the disposition of the request and researching case status and history.
• Provides training and updates related to Reconnect to members of the Commission staff as needed.
• Performs other related duties as required.

• Knowledge of reemployment assistance law, rules, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data.
• Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.
• Ability to conduct fact-finding research.

• Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, policies, and procedures.

• Skilled at customer service and preparing written correspondence, reports, and emails.
Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
Minimum:
• Bachelor's degree or four years of direct experience in a related field.
• Application detailing experience and education to support answers to the qualifying questions.
Preferred
• Experience working in a government benefits program is a plus.
• Preference will be given to those that have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in an unemployment compensation program and experience using the Reconnect system.
