RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform a variety of routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, making minor repairs and responding to emergency calls for service, including but not limited to any or all of the following:
2. Lighting, HVAC, and sound control systems
3. Faucets, ice makers, toilets, and dishwashers
4. Electrical light fixtures, switches, and receptacles, exhaust fans, ceiling fans, water heaters and other appliances
5. Windows and doors including screen door track mechanisms, check and repair locks, repair hinges, patch drywall and mount towel holders
6. HVAC systems and equipment
7. Swimming pool and spa
8. Ensure that buildings and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition in accordance with health and fire regulations and as directed by supervisor or director.
9. Report unusual conditions and situations which may endanger mechanical functions or operations of the resort to supervisor or manager.
10. Maintain hand and power tools in working condition.
11. Maintain and service kitchen and emergency equipment.
12. Install fire extinguishers and maintain service schedule.
13. Perform snow and ice removal duties seasonally, using hand tools and/or motorized vehicles and equipment.
14. Other duties as assigned, including duties in other areas of the department (e.g. landscaping tasks).

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

1. General knowledge of the tools, methods and materials used in building maintenance work; resort or hotel maintenance experience a plus.
2. Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment, measure distance and calculate quantities, and read blueprints.
3. Specialized repair abilities or experience in a minimum of one of the following areas preferred: general carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and/or electrical.
4. Ability to pass drivers background check, operate light to heavy machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
5. High school diploma (or equivalent).
6. Ability to use a computer or other technology devices.
7. Problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
8. Certified Pool/Spa Operator (CPO) Certificate a plus.
9. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, receive and give instructions, and prepare work orders and reports, including via the use of a computer or other device.
