Your Impact
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in hardware development to join our dynamic team at Dedrone. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and success of our hardware products, leveraging your knowledge of mechanical
What You'll Do
- Develop fixed-site, portable, and mobile solutions, focusing on durable designs that maintain performance in various operational environments.
- Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept through to end-of-life, ensuring designs meet requirements for mechanical stability, thermal efficiency, and overall reliability under diverse conditions.
- Create conceptual designs for new products, considering factors that will influence cost, size, weight, and environmental ratings.
- Validate new designs using industry standard test equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and RF engineers, system architects, and software developers.
- Manage component and bill-of-materials (BOM) structures in PLM systems, ensuring traceability and accuracy throughout the product lifecycle.
- Manage Production Documentation and Compliance, ensuring that all aspects of the design, manufacturing process, and product qualifications are meticulously documented, updated, and in compliance with relevant industry standards.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a focus on thermal analysis.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles, including heat transfer, EMI, and shock and vibration.
- Fundamentals in simulation tools such as SolidWorks Simulation, Ansys, or similar software for thermal and structural analysis.
- Experience in designing products to withstand harsh environments.
- Familiarity with MIL STDs and qualification processes.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication tools, such as drills, bandsaws, and angle grinders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical challenges.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex ideas clearly.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of ambiguity.
