Background:

The Projects Analyst (PA) will work in the Nordic Unit in the European Department, primarily covering Finland and Norway. The RA will support a number of specific projects to support the analytical work, focusing on Finland. More generally, the selected candidate will assist with collection and validation of data from multiple sources, management of a complex database, and will support the teams in production of its Article IV reports.

Expected output(s)/Deliverable(s) by Dec 5, 2025:

Data Management and Analysis of Finnish Labor Market

📅 Deadline: October 6

  • Support an economist on a project exploring the implications of AI on the Finnish labor market. The RA will work with ‘micro-level’ information to help clean and manage the database, perform basic analytical work, and suggest new ideas for consideration.

Build a presentation and contribute to AIV

📅 Deadline: November 7

  • The RA will help to develop a presentation for the authorities and support the economist in writing an annex for the Article IV report.

Assist in evaluation of Nordic economies.

📅 Deadline: December 5

  • Support will also be provided to a sister-project exploring the role of ‘frontier firms’ in raising the productivity of the median firm in Nordic economies.

Key terms of appointment are as follows:

Receiving Institution: European Department Nordic Unit, IMF (EURND)

Appointment Dates: September 8th – December 5th, 2025

Compensation: The incumbent will receive a lump sum pay of $9,300.

Payment be disbursed upon completion of deliverables as follows:

October 6: $3,100

November 7: $3,100

December 5: $3,100

Work Arrangement: In IMF HQ or remotely from home; no travel envisaged. The incumbent will work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week.
