About the role

Regional Physician Liaison

Atlanta, GA | Marketing | Full-Time | Up to 50% Travel

At Butterfly Effects, families are at the center of everything we do, and we recognize that strong referral relationships are what connect them to the care they need. We are seeking a relationship-driven Regional Physician Liaison to expand our healthcare referral network across a multi-state territory covering Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia, and additional East Coast markets as assigned.

Based in Atlanta and reporting to the Director of Marketing, this position will build and strengthen relationships with pediatricians, developmental pediatricians, psychologists, diagnostic providers, healthcare systems, schools, and other professionals who support children and families affected by autism. This is a field-based role requiring frequent travel, strong territory management, disciplined follow-up, and consistent use of Salesforce.

What Would You Be Doing?

As the Regional Physician Liaison, you will:

  • Build & Maintain: Develop trusted relationships with physicians, diagnostic providers, healthcare systems, schools, and community partners.
  • Plan Your Territory: Create and maintain a structured territory plan that prioritizes markets, referral sources, travel, and follow-up based on opportunity and performance.
  • Educate & Engage: Develop and execute market-specific outreach plans, educating referral partners about Butterfly Effects' center-based, in-home, and in-school ABA services, referral process, insurance participation, service areas, and availability.
  • Prioritize Opportunity: Identify and pursue high-potential referral sources based on market opportunity, clinical capacity, geography, payer participation, and service availability.
  • Show Up: Schedule and conduct provider meetings, office visits, presentations, lunch-and-learns, community events, and professional networking activities.
  • Build Repeat Referrals: Cultivate relationships that produce consistent, repeat referral activity, not just one-time introductions.
  • Drive Results: Generate qualified referrals and support progress toward assessments and child starts.
  • Track & Report: Maintain accurate records in Salesforce, manage a structured pipeline of prospective and active referral partners, and prepare regular reports on outreach activity, referral growth, assessments, child starts, market trends, and barriers to growth.
  • Analyze & Adjust: Use Salesforce and performance data to evaluate which relationships and strategies are producing results, explain performance changes, and recommend adjustments to outreach strategy and market priorities.
  • Share Intelligence: Provide market intelligence regarding referral patterns, diagnostic access, competitor activity, and community needs.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with Marketing, Client Services, Clinical Operations, and leadership to align referral development with the organization's ability to serve families.

Why Work at Butterfly Effects?

  • Be part of a mission-driven organization improving the lives of children and families affected by autism.
  • Build a multi-state territory with real ownership over your own market strategy and priorities.
  • Represent an organization with a long, established track record in the ABA space.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Client Services, and Clinical Operations rather than in a sales silo.
  • Full benefit package available for full-time employees.

What Do You Bring to the Role?

  • Three or more years of experience in physician relations, provider outreach, healthcare business development, referral development, territory management, consultative sales, or a similar relationship-based role.
  • Demonstrated success building professional relationships and generating measurable referral or business growth.
  • Experience independently managing a geographic territory.
  • Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent organization and the ability to manage frequent travel, multiple markets, and a high volume of professional relationships.
  • Experience using a CRM to document activity, manage a pipeline, and report on performance.
  • Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate clear recommendations.
  • Comfort working toward measurable goals and being accountable for results.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel up to 50%, including overnight and multi-state travel.
