Job Details:
Job Description:
As a Defect Metrology Engineer, you'll be a member of Intel's High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM) fabrication process team, which drives innovation for the next generation of silicon products. You will play a critical role in manufacturing and developing silicon bridges, silicon photonics, advanced packaging processes, yield improvements, and HVM solutions.
Metrology Engineers are responsible for leading the development of measurement technology solutions for process development research, tools, methodologies, and procedures enabling cost-effective defect monitoring solutions for device manufacturing. They will coordinate metrology equipment selection, installation, qualification, design, as well as execute and analyze experiments necessary to meet design specifications and equipment troubleshooting.
They participate in developing intellectual property and develop the equipment necessary to exploit the understanding gained in research (in collaboration with equipment suppliers). They work effectively with the equipment supplier to identify shortcomings and propose and evaluate hardware modifications to mitigate issues. They will be expected to partner with area engineers, technicians, integration, SGL (Shift Group Leader), and management to enable development and production commitments.
As the Defect Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Own assigned metrology equipment fleet, including the fleet qualification, troubleshooting, sustaining engineering, and configuration control with change control process.
- Develop BKM (best-known method) for equipment operation, preventative maintenance procedures, and error recoveries to maximize equipment availability and fab manufacturing operational compliance.
- Development of novel (new) metrology recipes.
- Drive improvements in quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability/capability, productivity, and safety/ergonomics over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment, and operating personnel.
- Train production/receiving process engineers, engineering, and manufacturing technicians for transfer to other factories.
- Transfer process to high volume manufacturing and support new factory startup and installation and qualification of the latest production lines.
