Who You’ll Work With:
The Business Application and Desktop Services department supports AllianceBernstein Investor Services’ (ABIS) operations and service teams located in the US, Europe and Asia. The primary objective is to ensure the business can stay focused on servicing our customers and growing the business by acting as a focal point for ABIS’ technology needs.
This team supports this diverse group of business users by providing a broad array of support and development services. These services are provided in cooperation with other technology groups, external vendors, and most importantly the business groups that we service. Additionally, this group provides business analysis, process documentation, vendor application support and ABIS’ Business Continuity Coordination in coordination of AB’s Business Continuity Management group.
What You’ll Do:
The Business Application Support Manager will lead a team responsible for supporting and enhancing a suite of business-critical applications and tools used across AllianceBernstein Investor Services (ABIS). This role will oversee application support, user engagement, process improvement, and system administration, ensuring seamless operations and continuous improvement of internal systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily support and maintenance of business applications, including both vendor and proprietary applications both on premise and externally hosted platforms.
- Act as a liaison between business users, IT, and vendors to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
- Ensure timely and accurate resolution of incidents and service requests, following best practices.
- Lead and mentor a team of analysts fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts with internal departments (i.e. Database Administration, Application Development, Web Hosting, Information Security and Business teams etc.) and external vendors.
- Manage system enhancement initiatives, including requirements gathering, testing, deployment, and documentation.
- Drive automation and optimization of business processes through data integration, reporting, and workflow improvements.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing.
- Oversee the delivery of scheduled and ad hoc reports.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across systems and reports.
- Provide insights and analytics to support business decision-making.
- Manage user access and permissions across supported systems.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, workflows, and support procedures.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in application support, systems analysis, or IT operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Experience in financial services or investment operations is a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server (SSIS, SSRS), MS Access, Excel, and Visual Studio.
- Familiarity with Database Administration and reporting tools is a plus.
- Experience with IT Service Management tools (e.g., ServiceNow,) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
