June 1, 2026 - January 15, 2027

Duties may also include mechanical or small engine maintenance. Work tasks are both in climate-controlled buildings and outdoors.

 

Age Requirement

Adults 18 or older

 

Required Qualifications 

Vehicle Required for Personal Transportation. Local candidates only; housing not provided.

 

Successfully complete construction equipment training (this is provided by the USFWS at San Maros Aquatic Resource Center at no cost to the intern.)

 

This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger. Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Hours served can be applied toward the Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

Local candidates only; preferred within 30 drive of San Marcos, TX

 

Hours 

40 per week

 

Living Accommodations 

Local candidates only. Housing is not provided.

 

Compensation  

Living allowance: $680/week; Health insurance provided

All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
