As a Senior System Safety Engineer you will be responsible for;
- Creation of Systems Safety Hazard Reports, Common Cause Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Reliability Prediction Reports, and identification of Critical Safety Items to support Systems Engineering FMEA.
- Provide Safety and Reliability support by meticulously reviewing Design Engineering's development of Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and collaborating with Manufacturing Operations or Suppliers in creating Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) in compliance with relevant standards.
- Act as an integral member of program Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), contributing to the meticulous review of documentation. The ultimate goal is to achieve system qualification and product certification, encompassing elements such as system specifications, interface control documents, system description documents, and test specifications and reports.
- Contribute expertise to trade studies for Aircraft Programs, offering valuable insights and advice on safety-related aspects.
- Scrutinize supplier reliability predictions, FMEAs, and FTAs to support the development of Aircraft and System Safety Analyses.
- Guide and oversee the development of safety documentation, ensuring alignment with customer/contract requirements.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Reliability & Maintainability, including Failure Mode and Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Maintenance Task Analysis, reliability modeling/predictions/calculations, environmental qualification testing, environmental stress screening (ESS), and the implementation of failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action systems (FRACAS), along with testability analysis.
Qualifications;
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or mathematics.
- 10 or more years of aircraft systems development experience
- 5 or more years of experience in System Safety Engineering
- Substantial experience with the following standards
- MIL-STD-882, ARP4761, ARP4754, MIL-HDBK-217
- 14 CFR Part 21, 23, and 25
Salary Range: $100,000-150,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
