We are now looking for an energetic, customer-orientated Senior Change Management Engineer to join our Content Management Technical Instructions Team (of 14 dedicated professionals). You will be managing the Requests for Change (RFC) to the Operation and Maintenance Manuals (O&MM) and related work cards, for the products that you are responsible for.


You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the requested changes are validated. You will use our change management tool Polarion, to ensure that the documentation is updated in a timely, professional, and transparent way. 


The Content Management Technical Instructions Team is working to provide high-quality Technical Information products that help our customers to optimize the efficiency and performance for the lifetime, of their Wärtsilä products. 


You will be guided and supported by your Manager and our team of Change Management Engineers.

 

Location:

This position is located in Vaasa, Finland.
 
In this position, your main tasks and responsibilities will be to:

  • Collect, coordinate, approve and assign the Requests for Change (RFC)
  • Manage and lead the creation, updating and harmonization of the content for the products that you are responsible for
  • Ensure a high-quality flow of information between internal and external stakeholders
  • Chair RFC, Status and Steering Committee (SteCo) meetings
  • Review the updated content to ensure it complies with the Technical Information guidelines
  • Ensure the Change Management procedures are followed at all times
  • Report on non-conformities and related costs
  • Compile monthly reports for the Technical Information Management Team
  • Implement and fine-tune tools, processes, and ways of working within the Content Management Technical Instructions Team

 

To be successful in this position, we expect you to: 

  • Have a BSc or MSc degree in engineering, information management or similar professional qualifications
  • Have effective communication skills in English, both written and oral
  • Have good coordination and problem-solving skills
  • Be meticulous and process orientated
  • Have good self-management skills
  • Have knowledge and experience in content revision and variant change management
  • Have a strong interest or willingness to learn about engine technology, technical communication, and content management systems
  • Be a social and curious person, who is not afraid of discussing issues with our Technical Experts face-to-face
  • Be a good team player, who works well with others
  • Work with high energy and determination
  • High people skills and strong social competence
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Relevant professional work experience is considered an advantage
