Endpoint Engineering Intern

Hilltop Holdings is currently looking for a qualified student to join our Information Technology team as an Endpoint Engineering Intern. The intern will assist with supporting workstation configuration and equipment in various system environments from design through implementation and support. Specific responsibilities include performing a wide variety of tasks related to the installation, configuration, upgrading of software/hardware in various environments. This role involves investigation, diagnostic testing, troubleshooting and repair/resolution of system hardware, software and infrastructure. Ideal candidates will have an interest in PC hardware, PowerShell automation, and solving complex problems.
Candidates should understand all components of a PC and their purpose, have experience building a PC, regularly troubleshoot PC issues, have some level of programming/scripting experience, and a passion for learning about how things work. Additional knowledge of cybersecurity, virtualization, and networking fundamentals is a plus.
- Complete configuration, installation, and support of software and equipment according to departmental or organizational needs
- Troubleshoot and resolve system administration-related issues
- Assist with software applications, operating systems and regular maintenance
- Gather business requirements and translate them into appropriate system requirements
- Document support instructions, processes, and procedures
- Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, other internal departments, and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support
- Generate reports as necessary regarding various systems
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be at least a junior currently enrolled in college pursuing a bachelor’s degree in: Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineer, Systems Engineer, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Management, or another similar major.

- Desire to learn about career opportunities in the Information Technology area and/or financial services industry
- Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Candidate MUST have authorization to work for any employer in the US without requiring sponsorship, whether in student status or not
