The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) organization is seeking a Lead Landing Gear and Hydraulic Systems Design and Analysis Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, OK.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide technical quality review of the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systems to establish the system design
- Lead activities to validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirements
- Lead the development, maintenance, or modification of system components' designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentation
- Lead technical meetings and planning efforts, presents technical information to wide range of audiences
- Manage supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals
- Prioritize, delegate and track performance and documentation of analyses of fluid systems/mechanisms/landing gear/ordnance components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design
- Support proposal preparation and new business development efforts
- Train and coach others
- Work under minimal direction
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)- Level 4:
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- 8+ years of experience with mechanical systems
- 5+ years of experience with hydraulic and/or mechanical control systems
- 5+ years of experience with basic aerodynamics/fluid mechanics principles
- 3+ years of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher
- 5+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering schematics, and specifications
- Demonstrated project management skills within a fast paced highly integrated environment
- Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct technical meetings and planning
- Experience performing hydraulic / fluid system analysis, preferably using MATLAB and/or Easy5 software
- 4+ years of experience designing tooling using CAD/CAM software, preferably CATIA
- Experience producing technical reports and presentations
- Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
- Familiarity with engineering processes and methods
- Experience working with cross functional teams
- Experience with Model Based Development tools
