THE WORK:
- You'll oversee review and approval of technical documents and manage comment resolution.
- You'll serve as technical liaison between Developers/Design-Builders and TDIP Subject Matter Experts.
- You'll collaborate with Project Managers to define, review, and approve design requirements.
- You'll provide guidance when design requirements are unclear or inconsistent across documents.
- You'll conduct technical reviews of scope changes for Arrivals and Departures Curbside Projects.
- You'll establish and standardize submittal approval procedures and review approaches.
- You'll audit project team comments and designer responses for completeness and accuracy.
- You'll monitor compliance with architectural and engineering design guidelines.
- You'll support timely and budget-conscious design reviews with Curbside Project Managers.
- You'll track scope elements to ensure complete coverage and assignment across projects.
- You'll oversee BIM production and implementation per LAWA standards and coordinate with LAWA’s Central Building Information Managemen (cBIM).
- You'll facilitate cross-project technical coordination to ensure consistency and interface accuracy.
- You'll prepare materials and briefings for internal and external meetings and presentations.
- Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, and/or related field required
- 15 years or more experience in managing the design of large, complex building projects, utilities and infrastructure improvements, preferably on airport projects
- Design management of complex aviation improvements experience required
- Experience managing a team of design professionals
- Experience with projects more than $100 million in value.
- Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build
- Proven ability to perform in a management capacity
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
- Must have a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus; and willing and capable to assume additional responsibilities
- Must be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgrounds
- Must be detail oriented and highly organized
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
- Professionally licensed Architect and/or Engineer strongly preferred
