Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Unit Position Summary

The Applied Forest and Wildlife Ecology Laboratory at Michigan State University is looking to hire one technical assistant (with a maximum of 40 hours/week) to assist with GIS work, photo-tagging, and to assist with data cleaning in support of research projects.

General duties:

• Assist with assigning trail attributes in ArcGIS
• Support photo tagging and audio recording analyses in support of varying lab projects
• Assist with data preparation and cleaning in support of marten project

Desired Qualifications

• Degree or progress toward degree in field of natural resources.
• Experience with using ArcGIS.
• Experience with photo tagging and verifying bird audio recordings
• Accurate and efficient data entry
• Self-motivated and independent
• Organized and attention to detail
• Clear communication and ability to interact with colleagues
