France and Global Backup Travel Manager

The France travel manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of corporate travel arrangements, ensuring efficient and cost-effective travel solutions.
Need to collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand travel needs, and support the Global Travel and expense manager, deputising when needed.
Support will be required to negotiate contracts with airlines, hotels, and other travel vendors, and manage travel budgets. Unique point of contact for all matters related to the Travel and Expense platform (booking tool, TMC and all travel partners), the Travel manager will need to stay updated on industry trends and regulations, implement travel policies, and provide guidance on travel-related issues to employees.
Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills are essential for success in this role, together with a positive “can do” attitude.
Key duties and responsibilities
-Develop and implement travel policies and procedures.
- Coordinate travel arrangements including flights, accommodations, car rentals, and other transportation needs.
- Negotiate contracts and discounts with travel vendors to optimize costs.
- Provide guidance and support to travelers regarding travel policies, visa requirements, and destination information.
- Monitor travel expenses and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
- Analyze travel data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve travel processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Resolve travel-related issues and emergencies promptly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to reconcile travel expenses and manage invoices.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure adherence to travel policies and compliance with regulations.
Required experience & competencies
Experience & soft skills:
- 3-5 years of Travel Management experience in a similar role
- Proven experience in travel management or a related role.
- Strong negotiation and communication skill
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Familiarity with travel booking systems and technology
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of travel industry regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and travel management software.
Languages:
- Fluent in French and English
Required Education
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, or related field (preferred).
