We are currently looking for qualified individuals to fill the position of Summer Program Director - Little Rock!

What you will do:

  • Supervise the Developmental Preschool summer program
  • Conduct reviews of the center to ensure that Arkansas Child Care Licensing and Early Intervention Day Treatment requirements are being followed
  • Manage classroom staffing to ensure adequate staff-to-child ratio in each classroom
  • Work with the Assistant Director in management of staff
  • Monitor classroom attendance by submitting weekly attendance records, tracking patterns, contacting families, etc.
  • Work with Assistant Director to ensure all classroom documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner, including billing sheets, assessments, treatment plan, etc.
  • Ensure all therapy documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner including weekly treatment notes, billed hours for each site, and discharge paperwork
  • Communicate with onsite therapist about therapy caseloads and specific needs for the children we serve
  • Assist with IT needs for classroom computers and therapist computers
  • Work with Assistant Director to ensure that the proper developmental assessment is administered to all children according to the assessment schedule
  • Work with Assistant Director and Classroom Teaching Assistants to ensure that an Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) is developed and updated
  • Work with Assistant Director and Classroom Teaching Assistants to ensure that each child’s ITP is being worked on weekly and monitors each ITP for progress/ goal completion
  • Work with Assistant Director to ensure curriculum is being followed weekly.
  • Assist Summer Program Coordinator with scheduling and interviewing for open classroom positions
  • Complete performance evaluations, as needed
  • Assist with orientation for classroom staff and ensure the staff is fully trained to meet licensing standards and the needs of the summer program
  • Ensures the playground is safe and ready for students each day
  • Ensure that all activities for the day are planned and prepared
  • Attend required in-services
  • Work with Summer Program Coordinator to ensure summer budget is maintained
  • Oversee requisitions and supplies for building
  • Act as the contact person for daily operations, building needs and/or issues as they arise
  • Be available to parents as needed. Involves Regional Summer Program Director with any concerns that cannot be immediately/ easily resolved
  • Administer medications to children when necessary
  • Attend Multidisciplinary conferences as needed
  • Coordinate classroom referrals for additional clinical services
  • Assist in classrooms as required by center needs
  • Ensure that site is properly maintained and cleaned at the end of camp and communicates with host site director about site expectations and cleaning
  • Communicate with parents effectively before, during and after summer camp

 

What you have:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people
  • Must be able to work with children birth to age 18 and families who are at risk
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer skills which includes a working knowledge of keyboarding, database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and other company documents
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of families or employees of organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Have one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Child or Youth Development, or a related field from
