Field Technician IV

HOW A FIELD TECHNICIAN IV WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Fabricates, installs, maintains, and repairs electronic, mechanical, and/or other types of components and equipment.
● Will work with GDIT VLS Team to ensure operational status of contracted VLS machined or fabricated parts are completed to required procedures and specifications.
● Will work with GDIT VLS Team to identify and correct any deficiencies found.
● Will work with a competitive and highly trusted GDIT VLS Team.
● The support the GDIT VLS Team provides ensures the Fleet and Program are maintained to the highest levels.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED: ● Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience
● Required Technical Skills: Ability to set up and operate machine tools, Fit check and assemble parts, Repair existing metal parts, Work from NAVSEA drawings, Navy MRCs, VLS Authorized Procedures, and Technical Manuals, Ability to verify dimensions and alignments with measuring instruments.
● Security Clearance Level: Secret
● Required Skills and Abilities: Problem Solving, Communication, Shop mathematics, Tools (hand and power), and Knowledge of machining.
● Preferred Skills: Microsoft Word and Excel, and understanding of Test Equipment/Gauge Calibration.
● Location: Chesapeake, VA

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $32.09 - $43.41. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
