Position Summary
SDSU is seeking individuals interested in temporary Accounting Technician positions.
The appointments vary in classification, salary, and length and provide varying levels of general office, clerical, and administrative support for students, faculty, and/or staff.

Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work schedule to be arranged.
The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.
Education and Experience
Accounting Technician I: Equivalent to one year of clerical accounting or financial record-keeping experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Accounting Technician II: Equivalent to three years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Accounting Technician III: Equivalent to four years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Key Qualifications
- Ability to review financial documents for accuracy, completeness, validity, and adherence to standards
- Ability to compute and post numbers rapidly and accurately
- Ability to interpret and apply written rules and regulations
- Ability to use current computer word processing and spreadsheet software programs, web browsers, query tools, integrated financial systems and/or other types of records management systems, such as student accounting, cashiering and student financial aid
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Compensation and Benefits
Salary placement varies by assignment and is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Ranges (Monthly):
- Accounting Technician I: $3,512 - $5,511
- Accounting Technician II: $3,688 - $6,122
- Accounting Technician III: $3,968 - $6,964
