Qualifications

Location: Watsonville, CA (Bay Area) or The Woodlands, TX

Duration: 6 months plus

 

Job Description:

Member of team responsible for the operations, support, planning and implementation of data communications systems including cloud connectivity. Performs activities such as configuring, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and tuning network infrastructure which might include routers, switches, gateways, firewall systems, wireless access, end offices, network security devices and other specialized components. Responds to incident tickets and outages, providing technical expertise and actions leading to resolution. They will be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintains network hardware and systems.

  • Investigates, analyzes, isolates and resolves network and hardware matters.

  • Assesses and updates older networks as needed and in accordance with plans.

  • Installs and maintains network facilities, including hardware, software, and system data.

  • Installs network applications; maintains, tests, researches and resolves problems.

  • Determines appropriate standard testing routines or scripts

  • Prepares diagrams and drawings to document and assist in communicating current operational status of networks.

  • Performs configurations and configuration changes of various equipment.

  • Provide excellent customer service at all times.

  • Support any project that has a networking process or component.

  • Occasional after hours/weekend work required

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Meraki devices and the Meraki Dashboard

  • Strong knowledge of AWS and Azure connectivity and networking

  • Experienced with Palo Alto firewalls

  • Experience dealing with IPSec, and SDWAN connectivity

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 7 or more years of experience managing and maintaining networks

  • Experience working with local and wide area network systems and technical infrastructure

  • Experience working with voice (VOIP) and video systems and infrastructure

  • Experience working with firewalls and security systems

  • Experience working with network software and hardware, data, voice or video

  • Communication skills to interact with team members and support personnel

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Problem solving and analytic skills
