Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week 

 

This position primarily involves a hybrid work schedule - working remotely: Monday & Friday / on site: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Role Overview:

 

The Underwriting Business Analyst has overall responsibility for planning, directing, and coordinating activities pertaining to Underwriting strategic initiatives. 

 

  • Coordinates and communicates efforts across multiple stakeholders
  • Develops business requirements to support initiatives within agreed upon timelines
  • Participates in change management, compliance and risk initiatives
  • Proactively seeks out opportunities for continuous improvement

 

Lead Underwriting strategic initiatives in a transparent and productive way, applying standard project management practices and engaging business owners and leaders across the organization (Direct, PRUA, OGC, Compliance and Retail Underwriting).

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Works closely with technology teams supporting the Underwriting workbench. Documents (or supports the documentation of) business requirements and coordinates Underwriting engagement necessary to support the implementation of Underwriting technology initiatives.
    Facilitates user acceptance testing and ensures suitable training plans are incorporated into technology rollout.
  • Seeks out and evaluates process improvement opportunities in support of the department’s continuous improvement strategy.
  • Supports new product rollouts and represents Underwriting on the Product Implementation Team.
  • Leads special projects within domain and participates on enterprise-wide initiatives representing Underwriting.
  • Coordinates updates to Underwriting Policies & Procedures and participates on Change Management Team.
  • Functions as the account administrator for Underwriting systems including ALIP, Milliman, LexisNexis, SharePoint site, and department R: drive including managing bill reconciliation, service levels and security access where applicable.
  • Functions as first level support for Underwriters. Assist with troubleshooting issues impacting Underwriters’ ability to perform their duties, opens tickets, communicates with various IT teams and management to resolve the issues.
  • Responsible for participating as Disaster Relief Liaison and Business Continuity Liaison. Maintains the Underwriting Business Resiliency plan.
    Manages all recovery activities.
  • Matrix manages Underwriting resources who are supporting initiatives.
  • Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. This includes regular team updates on IT project execution, such as project status meetings, monthly project reviews and other collaboration opportunities.
  • Acts as champion of change and facilitate change management process within the Underwriting department to ensure departmental goals are met.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to professional growth in project/program management and other key areas.
  • Perform other critical tasks as required by the Underwriting Manager.
