Senior Technical Analyst – FinOps Reporting & Metrics

About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional to lead our FinOps Reporting & Metrics function. This role is responsible for designing and maintaining executive dashboards, tracking KPIs across all FinOps pillars, and enabling data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Power BI, understand technology financials, and thrive in a cross-functional environment that includes Finance, Technology Operations, Engineering, and Procurement.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the development and maintenance of FinOps dashboards and reporting tools (Power BI preferred)
• Define and track KPIs across Cloud & Infrastructure, Software Asset Management, and Capacity Planning.
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis across all cost segments.
• Partner with FinOps pillar leads to ensure consistent and accurate data inputs.
• Deliver executive-level insights on spend trends, anomalies, and performance metrics
• Facilitate monthly technology leadership forums, providing curated financial insights, trend analysis, and renewal visibility to guide strategic planning and investment decisions
• Work with business partners to gather and understand department funding requirements
• Lead data analysis to support a specific project or team with a strong ability to identify trends, patterns, and develop meaningful insights.
• Identify areas for improvement and suggest changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Create clear and comprehensive documentation and communications, ensuring that documentation is easily understandable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Continuously develop skills and knowledge to improve effectiveness as a technical analyst by staying informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Conduct thorough reviews of documentation and work products to ensure the quality of deliverables. 
• Adaptable and open to learning new tools and methodologies as the business landscape evolves.

Requirements

• Support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis across all cost segments.
• 5+ years of experience in technology, financial reporting, analytics, or business intelligence
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills. Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in working with relational databases, data modeling, Snowflake architecture, API integrations, and advanced SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Strong analytical and time management skills
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI or similar visualization platforms
• Strong understanding of IT financials, budgeting, and cost allocation models
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
• Proven capacity to work independently and manage multiple, completing demands.
• Excellent communication skills and executive presence
• Familiarity with change management principles is required to facilitate the adoption of new processes or technologies.
