Position Summary:

As a Senior Manager of HR Retirement, you will support the HR Benefits Retirement and Benefit Compliance Executive Director in the design, development, implementation and communication of the CVS Health qualified retirement programs, with an emphasis on defined benefit pension plans. In this role, you will also support special projects related to financial wellbeing, communications, and cross-team initiatives, particularly those involving HRSS.

You will accomplish this through:

  • Serving as a subject matter expert (SME) in ERISA and multiple subsets of retirement administration, governance, documentation, and design for all CVS Health qualified retirement plans with an emphasis on CVS/Aetna defined benefit pension plans

  • Managing complex large strategical projects from end to end

  • Researching and responding to participant escalation and DOL inquiries on participant matters

  • Organizing budget expense for corporate invoice and processing

  • Handling all claims processing with vendors and internal legal and appeals committee

  • Serving as lead Project Manager for complex initiatives from CVS Health retirement plans including projects relating to de-risking the defined benefit plans

  • Handling all aspects of vendor management from contracting to output to oversight

  • Developing, analyzing, and executing design solutions that contemplate the needs of the retirement and benefits group

  • Researching and evaluating alternative processes or avenues in the design, administration, and communication of retirement programs to achieve actionable changes and control cost

  • Presenting to peers and multi-skip-level managers

  • Drafting communications of a complex nature which can sway opinion and advance goals and objectives of the retirement and benefits team

  • Developing, reviewing, and publishing employee communications campaign materials with vendors, that comply with all regulatory obligations and CVS Health corporate branding

  • Partnering with the total benefits group, HRSS and Corporate Communication on all retirement strategy, design, administration, and reward initiatives for proper cascade throughout the organization

  • Managing implementation of new retirement programs and any changes to existing programs

  • Managing outside vendors, advisors & consultants to ensure program compliance & efficiency

  • Collaborating with internal colleagues to ensure seamless deliverables on retirement issues

  • Providing statistical analysis and data to support company retirement strategy

  • Overseeing regulatory communication and mailing to participants and leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in corporate benefit function or in a consulting or service provider role

  • At least 7 years defined benefit retirement plan experience

  • Concrete knowledge of retirement plan design, plan administration, and compliance and well-being with strong emphasis on defined benefit plan operations, administration, and compliance

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize work and complete tasks in a timely manner

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to consult on maintenance of Plan’s qualified status

  • Ability to collaborate with executives and colleagues at all levels

  • Experience managing budgets and monthly forecasts

  • Knowledge of finance, quantitative and analytical skills strongly preferred

  • Professional designation from ASPPA, NIPA, or CEBS preferred

  • Strong MS Office skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.

  • College degree preferred; equivalent work experience may substitute

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,940.00 - $182,549.00
