The candidate will work as a full-time Staff Research Associate II (SRA II) in a cutting-edge gynecologic oncology research laboratory that focuses on understanding the molecular basis of epithelial cancer formation, progression and treatment. The ultimate goal is to inform the design and testing of strategies for cancer treatment towards clinical trials.
Under the mentorship of the principal investigator (PI), the SRA II will perform a variety of molecular, cellular and genomic research techniques (flow cytometry, IHC, proteomics, transcriptomics) while working on projects related to understanding the immunologic and genetic events involved in the formation and progression of gynecologic disease. The candidate will also work with cultured cell lines, human clinical specimens and research animals. Other responsibilities include the preparation of data and technical writing for publications and grants and a significant portion of lab support duties.
Hourly Salary Range: $31.23 - $50.24
Job Qualifications

1. Experience in molecular, biochemical and cellular research.
2. Ability to perform euthanasia on animals for research purposes.
3. Experience isolating tissues and doing tissue culture work.
4. Ability to perform biochemical techniques as well as molecular biology techniques
5. Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with faculty, staff, and students.
6. Ability to work independently and to take direction.
7. Ability to maintain accurate inventory of supplies and laboratory instruments.
8. Ability to make innovative contributions pertaining to laboratory procedures.
9. Ability to read abstracts or scientific articles pertaining to prosecution of broad research problems.
10. Ability to use lab equipment including PCR machine, centrifuges, etc.
11. Ability to analyze research findings and prepare clear, concise and accurate technical/statistical reports.
12. Ability to work standing for at least 90% of the working day.
13. Ability to keep records of specimen.
14. Working knowledge of conducting literature search.
15. Demonstrated ability to adhere to departmental attendance standards
16. Computer literacy.
17. Previous lab experience of 1 year.
