Responsible for:          The Staff Accountant position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions relating to but not limited to: intercompany, payroll, tax, accounts payable and journal entry reconciliations.  The position will report to Americas Stormwater Financial Controller and is responsible for Accounts Payable functions with occasional shared project work with Americas Wastewater

 

 

Competence & Qualifications

 

  • BS/BA in Accounting/Finance. 
  • 4+ years’ professional experience in Accounting/Finance.
  • Knowledge in GAAP, MS Office, MS Dynamics, Mathematics, familiarity with IFRS
  • Positive attitude, initiative, Commitment, Integrity.
  • Process improvement oriented.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Understanding of ERP Cloud based system or NAV2018 is helpful

 

 

Key Duties:

 

Accounts Payable

  • Responsible for managing the Accounts Payable functions for ASW to include:
  • PO match and entering of invoices in NAV for approval.
  • Reconciling Vendor statements and discrepancy issues in AP
  • Vendor maintenance and setup
  • 1099 end of year production
  • Month end accrual reconciliation, vendor trial balance recon and other AP tasks as required to meet month end deadlines
  • Clearing accounting inbox
  • Creating weekly AP check run for processing
  • Managing Vendor contract renewals and other office admin duties as needed
  • Expense processing and management of Certify and cc reconciliation processing

 

General Ledger Accounting Reporting and Other

  • Special projects as defined by FC
  • Month end reconciliations and reporting as defined by FC
  • Payroll processing/back up for AWW division

 

Sales Tax Reporting

  • Reconcile and file monthly/quarterly/annual returns timely in accordance with county, city and state
  • Prepare Canadian GST and provincial quarterly and annual tax returns (under guidance of a third-party tax advisor)
  • Organize and consolidate tax provision payments and reports (under guidance of third-party tax advisor)

 

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Ability to work in office environment
  • US citizenship or ability to work in the US.
