Job Overview

The Summer Program Associates will provide program coordination and administrative support for the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (ODEIB) at Georgetown University School of Medicine during the summer season. Responsibilities require contributions toward developing, planning, and executing services that support four (4) summer pathway programs, ODEIB-sponsored orientation activities and related programing for incoming and continuing medical students.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Registering and On-boarding of summer scholars
  • Supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of ODEIB-sponsored summer activities
  • Organizing and maintaining program records
  • Serving as the first point of contact for summer scholars and assisting with related administrative tasks

Work Interactions

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, the Summer Program Associates play a critical role in supporting the strategic and operational success of the Georgetown University School of Medicine’s pathway programs and community engagement efforts. The Summer Program Associates will work closely with School of Medicine students and offices, as well as partners across Georgetown University Medical Center and MedStar Health, to support the training, collaboration, and commitment to an equitable and inclusive environment that aligns with Georgetown University School of Medicine’s goals and objectives.

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates should possess a high school diploma and experience supporting mentorship, college access, and/or career exposure opportunity programs. Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills are required as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Google suite software.

The ideal candidates would have demonstrated superb organizational and analytical skills as well as the ability to manage several concurrent tasks. Ability to manage professional relations with various constituents and represent the programs, department, and institution in a positive manner will be expected. Must be able to work in person, 5 days per week at GUMC for the duration of the summer programs.
