Job Summary
As a Senior Network Security Engineer you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining NetApp’s network security infrastructure. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of our network infrastructure while working with state-of-the-art technologies and supporting expanding connected services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain secure network solutions that align with industry best practices and comply with relevant regulations.
Job Requirements
- Firewall Deployment and Management: Configure, deploy, and maintain enterprise-level firewalls to safeguard our network from unauthorized access, intrusions, and threats.
- Inter/Intra Cloud Networking: Implement and optimize secure network connectivity between on-premises systems and various cloud platforms, ensuring seamless data flow and confidentiality.
- VPN Technologies: Design and administer Virtual Private Network (VPN) solutions, enabling secure remote access for employees and partners.
- Network Access Control: Develop and enforce access control policies to restrict unauthorized network access and protect sensitive information.
- Netflow Analysis: Utilize Netflow data to monitor network traffic, detect anomalies, and respond to potential security incidents proactively.
- TCP/IP, VRFs, and Routing Protocols: Manage and troubleshoot complex network configurations involving TCP/IP, Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF), and various routing protocols (BGP/OSPF).
- Automation and Scripting: Implement automation tools and create scripts to streamline network management tasks, reduce manual intervention, and improve overall efficiency.
- Network Security Audits: Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify potential weaknesses and ensure compliance with security standards.
- Incident Response: Participate in incident response activities, investigate security breaches, and contribute to incident mitigation strategies.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, security measures, and troubleshooting procedures. Generate regular reports on network security performance and incidents.
- Emerging Technologies Evaluation: Stay updated with the latest advancements in network security technologies and recommend relevant solutions to enhance our security posture.
Experience
- Extensive experience (minimum 7 years) in network security engineering, with a focus on Palo Alto firewall deployments, cloud networking, load-balancing, VPN technologies, and access.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VRFs, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
- Proficiency in working with automation tools and platforms, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for network automation platforms (Ansible/Terraform).
- Hands-on experience with Netflow analysis and other network monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform and their networking security features.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, attack vectors, and defense strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and troubleshoot network security incidents effectively.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, or equivalent will be highly regarded.
- Proven track record of successful network security project implementations and incident response management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
