About the role

Primary Role:

The Employee Benefits Account Executive is expected to contribute to the retention and growth of the employee benefits department by supporting the Sales and Service efforts. The Account Executive will have extensive contact with the C Suite of clients as an extension of the producer and focuses on the strategic outlook for clients. The Account Executive will work closely with a team to execute the strategic plan, while maintaining a high-level focus on multiple clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains relationships with existing Clients by executing proactive, creative, and on-going contact initiatives. Overseeing the alignment and a successful relationship of client partnerships
  • Strategic planning regarding complex underwriting and strategies
  • Has a strong understanding of self-funded medical plans, both bundled and unbundled with a TPA
  • Collaborates with all members of the HUB Team (Producer, Account Team, Centralized Teams & Specialty Practices) for strategy of clients
  • Attends and leads client meetings at least quarterly
  • Reviews & delivers monthly and quarterly experience claims reports to client
  • Progresses projects between quarterly meetings, specifically strategic initiatives
  • Rounds accounts, especially voluntary benefits
  • Implement clients’ multi-year strategic plan
  • Attends industry related continuing education training and courses
  • Proactively understands the requirements and needs of a client account.
  • Develops and maintains dependable working relationships with carriers, broker servicing networks, and other industry solutions
  • Oversees escalated issue-resolution between Client and the Vendor
  • Mentors and trains Account Managers, Account Administrators and other members of the team
  • Manages the retention & growth of Account Executive’s Book of Business (reviewing compensation by client remains on par, evaluates additional lines of coverage when appropriate, etc.)
  • Must follow HUB Broker Standards

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 7 years of related experience working as an Account Executive in the employee benefits arena (equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable).
  • Self-Funding and fully insured experience preferred
  • L&H License required or able to obtain within 120 days from hire

Public Speaking/Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively customers and teammates.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a big plus.
