Summary
This position is considered an "Essential Position" for the purpose of Emergency Management. Emergency duties will be assigned as needed. This position requires 24 hours a day, 7 days per week availability during City of Port St Lucie emergencies, as determined by City Administrators, Emergency Manager or City Officials.

Junior Basketball Official I-- Keeps the mission, vision, and values of the City of Port St. Lucie and Parks & Recreation Department at the forefront of decision making and action; builds strategic and collaborative relationships and interacts with others in a way that builds confidence and trust; provides excellent customer service by taking action to accomplish objectives, maintains high levels of work and productivity by generating innovative solutions to work situations.
- Officiates Junior Basketball games/tournaments in compliance with The National Alliance of Youth Sports (NAYS).
- Establishes and maintains an effective, harmonious, cooperative, and productive working relationship with participants including coaches, players, supervisors, and other employees of the Parks & Recreation Department.
- Maintains accurate time sheets and turns them into designated supervisor.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Junior Basketball Official II-

- Officiates Junior Basketball games/tournaments in compliance with the Florida High School Athletics Association (FHSAA).
- Establishes and maintains an effective, harmonious, cooperative, and productive working relationship with participants including coaches, players, supervisors, and other employees of the Parks & Recreation Department.
- Maintains accurate time sheets and turns them into designated supervisor.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

Junior Basketball Official I-
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of sport rules is required. Prior experience in officiating basketball games is preferred.
- Basketball Official Certification through NAYS, required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to learn and follow City policies and regulations.
- Ability to appear on time for all scheduled games and notify appropriate individuals in advance if unable to work.
