Job Description Summary

The part-time Operations Assistant is an essential staff member who will be responsible for performing custodial work, providing support before, during and after Arboretum events, cleaning water features throughout the garden and providing customer service to our visitors, members and staff. They will also be responsible for security and safety of University assets on the grounds.

Job Description

DUTIES:

• Clean water features throughout the garden

• Custodial work

• Provide customer service to our visitors, members and staff

• Security and safety of University assets on the grounds

• Set-up, break down and support during Arboretum events

• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• This position requires constant activity

• Individuals must be able to work in all areas of the garden under all weather conditions

• Applicants must be physically able to lift 30-50 pounds on occasion

• This position will include weekday / evening and weekend shifts

• Only responsible, self-starting individuals who work well independently should apply

• High school diploma or GED required

• Valid driver's license required

• 1 year experience in housekeeping / security preferred
