The successful candidate will oversee a team of </span><strong><span>2-3 SQL Data Engineers</span></strong><span>, providing guidance on best practices for developing </span><strong><span>dbt (data build tool) models</span></strong><span> and enhancing </span><strong><span>Power BI performance</span></strong><span> through use case-oriented data modeling. This role requires a deep understanding of </span><strong><span>SQL query optimization, physical data modeling</span></strong><span>, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into efficient data models.</span></p><p></p><p><strong><span>Key Responsibilities:</span></strong><span> </span></p><ul><li><p><span>Lead the </span><strong><span>design, implementation, and maintenance</span></strong><span> of scalable data models to support BI use cases, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Develop and enforce </span><strong><span>best practices</span></strong><span> for dbt model development, including coding standards, project structure, and documentation, to ensure consistency and quality across data projects. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Collaborate with stakeholders to define problem statements and translate business requirements into effective </span><strong><span>data models and analytical solutions</span></strong><span>. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Optimize </span><strong><span>Power BI performance</span></strong><span> by implementing best practices in data modeling, such as proper relationship definitions, efficient </span><strong><span>DAX calculations</span></strong><span>, and data load strategies. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Provide </span><strong><span>leadership and mentorship</span></strong><span> to the SQL Data Engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Establish and document </span><strong><span>data modeling guidelines, standards, and procedures</span></strong><span> to ensure data integrity, consistency, and best practices across the organization. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Stay informed of </span><strong><span>industry trends and advancements</span></strong><span> in data modeling, dbt, and BI tools to continuously improve processes and technologies.</span> </p></li></ul> <h3>Requirements</h3> <ul><li><p><strong><span>Bachelor's or Master's degree</span></strong><span> in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><strong><span>Minimum of 7 years</span></strong><span> of experience in data modeling, data engineering, or analytics engineering roles. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Proven expertise in </span><strong><span>SQL</span></strong><span>, including complex query optimization and performance tuning. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Extensive experience with </span><strong><span>dbt</span></strong><span>, including best practices for model development and project management. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Skilled in </span><strong><span>Databricks</span></strong><span> (production experience).  </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Strong knowledge of </span><strong><span>Power BI</span></strong><span>, including </span><strong><span>data modeling techniques, DAX, and performance optimization strategies</span></strong><span>. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Demonstrated ability to define problem statements, communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and </span><strong><span>lead teams</span></strong><span> to successful project delivery. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Experience in </span><strong><span>creating and implementing data modeling guidelines</span></strong><span> and best practices. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p><span>Strong </span><strong><span>analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills</span></strong><span>. </span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><strong><span>Preferred Qualifications:</span></strong><span> </span></p><ul><li><p><span>Experience with </span><strong><span>cloud data platforms</span></strong><span> (e.g., AWS, Databricks)
