As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking - End User Technology Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. You will have the opportunity to design, develop and test microservices transforming the User experience that are built with Cloud Native Microservices and application modernization strategy.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Monitor and optimize application performance and scalability. 
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management and ensure security best practices are implemented across the infrastructure
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to enhance system reliability. 
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Proficient in coding in Java and coding in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. 
  • Must be able to lead and share best-practices for development of Web Services and Web components in a DevOps environment
  • Hands-on practical experience with Java and event-driven architectures, based on distributed event streaming platforms such as Kafka
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. 
  • Hands-on practical experience in Microservices technology, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Must be able to interact with other Microservices developers, QA automation engineers, and other testers from cross-functional groups such as Integration Solutions Testing, and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies, such as Micro-Front-Ends
  • Exposure to cloud technologies, such as Amazon Web Services
  • Working knowledge of JMeter and BlazeMeter
  • Should have experience with Performance engineering concep
